Young Living Essential Oil Giveaway!

Enter to win a bottle of Christmas Spirit Essential Oil from Young Living! | themodestmomblog.com

I am not an essential oil expert. I admire women who seem to know exactly what bottle of oil to reach for depending on the illness that arises. But I’ve realized you don’t have to be an expert in order to use essential oils. I have a container full of Young Living Essential Oils and I use them regularly on my children. Once you learn a few basics, it really isn’t as overwhelming as it might seem.

When my children have trouble sleeping, I use peace and calming or lavender on them.

When they skin their knee, or have a cut, I reach for lavender.

If the flu or cold hits us, I put Thieves on their feet and chest.

Bug bites during the summer get Purification put on them.

So far that’s about the extent of what I use on a regular basis, even though I know there is so much more I have to learn.

And I’m ok with that. I think what stops so many people from investing in Essential Oils is the question of “what do I do with this oil once it is in my hand?” So I took the time to learn the basics of what I needed for my family, and at this point in my life I am content with that.

I use Young Living Oils because they are the purest oil that I know of. My  1 year old daughter recently had an earache, and I started rubbing lavender and purification around her ear and neck (not in her ear at all). I was diligent about doing it all day, about 5 times total, and I saw a huge difference in her fussiness and she stopped tugging on her ear. It can be as simple as that.

My 5 year old daughter fell off her bike and skinned her shoulder up really bad on the concrete. I put lavender on it as it healed, and today you can’t even tell that it was injured.
